Diana Lui PositionAcupuncturist and Chinese Medicine Practitioner ProfileHaving grown up with Chinese medicine (her father is also a Chinese medicine practitioner), Diana was inspired to take the same path when she saw the tremendous results for patients who didn't respond to conventional treatment. Diana graduated with Distinction in Chinese Medicine and Human Biology from RMIT, then completed her clinical internship at Nanjingâ's prestigious Jiangsu Provincial Hospital with particular focus on acupuncture. With a growing interest in sports, pain management and muscle conditions, Diana also holds a certificate in Myotherapy to complement her acupuncture skills. |

Fiona Samuel PositionPhysiotherapist ProfileFiona graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science before moving to sunny Perth where she completed a Master of Physiotherapy at Curtin University. She worked in a large public hospital in Perth prior to returning to Melbourne in 2010, transitioning to private practice and teaching Clinical Pilates. As well as Clinical Pilates, Fiona is also interested in sports injury rehabilitation and pre- and post-natal (pregnancy) physiotherapy Pilates. Bede Christey PositionPhysiotherapist ProfileBede joined the Viva Physiotherapy team after jumping the ditch from Auckland, NZ in 2010. Originally from Christchurch, Bede had spent the last 10 years studying and working in Auckland. He completed his Post Graduate diploma in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy in 2007 and has worked with a number of Premier Club rugby and soccer team as well as acting as the sports physio for numerous other teams. Bede is also qualified to use dry needling as part of his treatment. He enjoys running regularly and will usually aim to finish three half-marathons per year. Bede is particularly interested in sports and spinal injuries, and always enjoys a challenge. |

Kathryn Anderson PositionDirector and Physiotherapist ProfileKathryn started Viva Physiotherapy in 2009 after completing her Masters of Manual Therapy at the University of Western Australia where she was the recipient of the Karim Khan Prize for Rehabilitation Science. Kathryn gained her bachelor degree with honours from The University of Melbourne. Since then, she has worked extensively in private practice, both in Australia and the United Kingdom. She spent three years at the prestigious Fullham Physiotherapy clinic in London, specialising in conditions such as sports injuries (particularly distance runners), spinal injuries, pregnancy and Pilates, which she has lecutred on to her peers for the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute. Kathryn has been recognised by TAC and Worksafe as an Occupational Physiotherapy Provider which means she is committed to returning injured people back to work.

Is Pilates beneficial even if I don't have any pain or injuries?Yes, Pilates is a fantastic form of exercise to build postural awareness and core strength which is important for preventing injuries or pain.
What is the difference between Acupuncture and Dry Needling?Acupuncture is a traditional Eastern Medicine practice that involves tiny needles being placed in strategic points in the body based on the meridian pathways to regulate Qi flow.
Dry needling is a Western approach to treating myofacial trigger points and pain with fine point needles.
